Junior 1000 RS Interclub – Stage Rally Licence
Welcome to the beginning of your rally adventure in under 17 Motorsport!
Bill Gwynne Rallyschool International is a founder member of the British Association of Rally Schools (BARS).
The Formula 1000 Junior Rally Championship allows those aged 14-17 to compete as a driver on stage rally events in cars up to one litre in capacity. From 14 children can also navigate on single-venue rallies. At 16, they can co-drive on a stage rally. They can continue to compete as a driver in these Junior Stage Rallies until December 31st on the year of their 17th Birthday. From 17 years old, drivers holding a driving licence can drive on road and stage rally events.
To take part in the Junior 1000 Rally Championship drivers need to:
Must be a minimum of 14 years old. In addition to this, there is a minimum height restriction of 1.40m (for safety reasons).
Complete the Stage Rally Licence Assessment.
Have had at least one hour of tuition at a Motorsport UK approved rally school. We will certify for you to present to the Championship organisers.
There are seven steps to complete the MSUK BARS RS-Interclub - Stage Rally Licence & Junior 1000 entrance criteria in order to take your place on the start line of Special Stage One.

| Step One: | Register to become a member of the Formula 1000 Rally club and Register for the Junior 1000 Rally Championship by clicking here. |
| Step Two: | Have had at least one hour of tuition at a Motorsport UK approved rally school, which we are here at Bill Gwynne Rallyschool. The proof of this must be sent to the Formula 1000, Junior 1000 Licence Co-ordinator (see details below). |
| Step Three: | Order your Motorsport UK Rallying Starter Pack from the Motorsport UK shop here. If you prefer to order by phone, then please call 01753 765000. |
| Step Four: | Once you receive your Licence Pack, it's time to book a Stage Rally Licence Assessment by clicking here. |
| Step Five: | Using the Study Guide (see link in your booking confirmation) study the relevant areas in the Rally Section of the Motorsport UK Yearbook. |
| Step Six: | Complete the two part Licence Assessment.
Part One - A written multiple choice Theory Paper Based on the Motorsport UK Yearbook Rallying Sections and video (for example signage, safety and regulations). These questions are based on information you will need before you can compete safely in a rally. As a rough guide, duration is approximately 30 minutes. Part Two - A driving assessment. An assessment of applicants’ driving in one of our rally cars on our Rally Special Stage. We will assess the driver’s ability to follow a marked route confidently and competently at reasonable speed. It is not an assessment of technique or speed. What do you need to bring? Your Motorsport UK Licence Pack and Licence Application Form. |
