About Bill Gwynne Rally School

As the world’s first professional rally driving school Bill Gwynne Rallyschool International has given great dirt-kicking rally driving experiences to tens of thousands of drivers for nearly forty years!

We’ve got the experience and expertise to help drivers meet the challenge of controlling a rally car on a loose surface rally stage and we make it fun! We’ll make you smile, we’ll make you sweat and we’ll make you smile some more!

Where experience counts

Our 1:1 Driver Development Course has produced a double World Rally Champion and our range of rally driving experiences has produced more smiles per minute than most other things you can do in a car!

As an Approved Motorsports UK rally driving school we deliver the Motorsport UK National Stage B Rally Licence Assessment and the Junior 1000 Rally Championship Licence Assessment. We are also a Stunt Driver Training Centre offering advanced courses for experienced stunt men and women to develop their driving skills.

Excellent Facilities

Our exclusive rally stage is based at Turweston Aerodrome near Brackley, just over an hour from central London and from Birmingham. Our currently hospitality facilities are based on a typical rally service area which gives our customers the full rally experience. Our plans for a new hospitality cabin are going through the planning process and we’re looking forward to providing our traditional hospitality when that is complete. In the meantime the welcome will be as warm as ever! The rally school offers a range of full, half and two hour experiences along with advanced 1:1 Driver Development courses throughout the year in our fleet of fully prepared rally cars. You can book your preferred date on-line or buy a gift voucher to give someone special a very special experience to remember!

Bill Gwynne 1940 – 2018

Bill Gwynne’s motorsport career began in 1953 when aged 13yrs he won the first motorcycle event he took part in and continued until July 2018 when he drove an ex-Carlos Sainz Escort Cosworth at the Goodwood Festival of Speed Rally Stage. He won three national motocross championships in the late fifties, five national rally championships in the late seventies and a further two national motocross championships in the early 2000’s.

He competed throughout Great Britain and Europe; ran the world’s first motocross training school in the 1960’s; operated rally driving schools throughout the world with his most successful student going on to win two World Rally Championships and enjoyed training countless young drivers in the unique subtleties of driving a rally car very quickly on loose and tarmac surfaces.
